ICPP 2025 Student Forum and NSF-Sponsored Student Travel Award
Award notifications will be sent by August 15, 2025.
The 54th International Conference on Parallel Processing (ICPP 2025) is a premier conference for engineers and scientists from academia, industry, and government to present their latest research in all aspects of parallel and distributed computing. ICPP also plays a key role in supporting the development of the next generation of researchers.
In this spirit, ICPP 2025, taking place in San Diego, California, from September 8–11, will host a Student Forum designed to provide doctoral students with the opportunity to:
Present their research to the broader ICPP community,
Receive feedback and mentorship from leading researchers in the field,
Broaden their understanding of parallel computing through conference sessions and workshops, and
Explore future research opportunities and build professional connections.
To support the students participating in the Student Forum, the conference will provide up to $900 per graduate student to support travel to the ICPP 2025 conference. The award can be used to help reduce the cost of airfare, travel to/from the conference venue, accommodations, and/or conference registration. The award will be processed as a reimbursement at the end of the conference (after September 11th), so please save all receipts associated with conference attendance. The NSF will not reimburse costs above $900 per graduate student.
Award Requirements: Students receiving the travel award are expected to apply using the link above and present their research posters at the ICPP 2025 Poster Session, which can be submitted here (Please ensure the application and the Student Poster Submission contain the same applicant information). They are also encouraged to participate in the student activities hosted at ICPP 2025.
Award Restrictions: This travel award is only available to current graduate students (M.S. or Ph.D.) studying at US-based institutions of higher education. Graduate students who are currently studying at institutions outside of the United States are not eligible for this award. Undergraduate students are not eligible for this award.
Airfare Restrictions: Airfare must be purchased with a US-flag carrier airline in the lowest available fare class. Travelers who fly premium economy/business/first class must document the lowest available coach fare and may allocate the difference using personal funds.
Ground Transportation: Transportation to/from the airport, bus, or rail station are reimbursable. Mileage-based reimbursement is available at 65.5 cents per mile if you are driving a personal vehicle to/from the conference. However, mileage-based reimbursement can only be submitted by the vehicle owner. Documentation may be required to prove ownership.
Incomplete applications will not be considered for the award.
This support is possible through a grant from the National Science Foundation, Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure.
